Joining
-
To join SING CHOIR, all members must pay a joining fee of £30, which includes a choir folder and choir T-shirt.

Auditions are not required, but members must sit in their assigned vocal section (Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass).

All members must complete a membership form.

Minimum age: 16/
-
New members are entitled to a free introductory session.

Members may join within the first two weeks of each term. Exceptions may be allowed at the discretion of the Choir Leader. Fees for remaining rehearsals are charged pro-rata (£7 per rehearsal; £6 concession). Full membership fees apply thereafter.

Membership

The choir follows three terms: Winter, Spring, and Summer, aligned with the academic year.

Term dates and half terms are set by the Choir Leader and shared in advance.

Membership costs:

£30 Joining Fee (includes folder & T-Shirt)

£7 per rehearsal (full price)

£6 per rehearsal (concession: students with valid ID, over 65 or members of the same household)

Membership fees are reviewed annually; changes apply from the start of the academic year.

Members must pay for rehearsals even if they miss a session, except in exceptional circumstances at the Choir Leader’s discretion.

Membership fees can be paid termly or half-termly; a minimum half-term payment is required to attend.

The Joining Fee is only payable once.
Payment
-
Payments are due at the start of each half term.

If absent on the first rehearsal, members must pay fees electronically or at their first session.

Payment methods: Cash, BACS, Card.

Fees are non-refundable except in the cases of illness or other exceptional circumstances at the Choir Leader’s discretion.
Rehearsals
-
Rehearsals take place at the Wollaton Park Community Centre, Harrow Road, Wollaton, Nottingham, NG8 1FG, and Sunday evenings term time (7:00pm – 9:00pm). Extended sessions may occur before performances.

Members are expected to attend rehearsals regularly and be punctual.

Missed rehearsals are not refunded except in exceptional circumstances at the Choir Leader’s discretion.

If a rehearsal is cancelled by the choir, a make-up session may be arranged, but this cannot be guaranteed.

The Choir Leader reserves the right to refuse membership for unsatisfactory attendance or punctuality.
Clothing & Merchandise

New members receive a T-shirt as part of the joining fee.

Additional choir clothing and merchandise is available for purchase at any point (prices may vary).

Refunds are only offered for faulty items; exchanges/swaps will be made if necessary.

Clothing and merchandise orders can be placed at rehearsals or by e-mail.
Performances

Performances are optional but highly encouraged.

There will be a minimum of three performances per year (one per term).

There are no additional performance costs, but members are expected to sell tickets.

Dress codes for each performance will be communicated in advance.

Members should behave professionally during performances and keep mobile phones and personal items out of sight.
Code of Conduct

Members must treat each other, Choir Leaders, and venues with respect.

Bullying, harassment, or disruptive behaviour is not tolerated and may result in temporary or permanent suspension.

Members must follow instructions during rehearsals and performances for safety and organisation.
Health & Safety

Member must inform the Choir Leader of any medical conditions or allergies.

The choir takes reasonable care for members’ safety but cannot accept responsibility for personal accidents, loss, or damage except where caused by negligence.
Media & Recordings

Media (photos, videos, recordings, quotes) will only be used with prior consent via the choir’s media consent form.

Members who do not consent will not appear in media.

Media remains the property of SING CHOIR and will not be shared with third parties.

Media may be kept for up to 2 years, after which it will be destroyed or archived.
Data Protection

Personal information collected for membership, payments, and communications will be stored securely and used only for choir purposes.

Data will not be shared with third parties except where necessary for choir operations.

Members may request access to or deletion of their personal data at any time.
Cancellation & Changes

The choir reserves the right to cancel or reschedule rehearsals, performances, or events as necessary.

Member will be informed of changes as soon as possible.
Liability
-
SING CHOIR and its staff are not liable for loss, damage, or injury sustained during rehearsals, performances, or events except where caused by negligence.
Acceptance
By joining SING CHOIR, members (and parents/guardians for under-18s) agree to abide by these Terms & Conditions.
